Enquire anyone why they love smoking and you’d end up hearing all sorts of answers. The truth is that many are aware of the health hazards that come bundled with the product but are very much ignorant about it. Smoking is a damper to anyone’s life. This addiction can harm the most important part of your life; your health. Having millions of dollars at your feet won’t help if you end up with a deadly sickness like cancer. If you have any idea about the consequences of smoking, then why quit smoking is essential would be rather obvious isn’t it?
It’s obvious why quit smoking is difficult; it takes a lot of courage, time and patience. Although the start to quitting may take a while, it won’t be a worthless task towards the end.
The most important reason why quit smoking is needed now more than ever is because of the increased number of patients suffering from cancer. Yes, you heard it right. Canceris a deadly sickness that have taken the lives of millions in and around the world can occur to people who smoke regularly. Smoking paves the way to all sorts of cancers, including lung and throat cancer. Recent studies show that if you quit smoking for at least a period of 10 years at a stretch, you have a low risk of getting such a sickness.
Although many smokers believe that they are far away from getting sick, smoking actually accelerates the chance of being infected with a disease. Some even get chronic illnesses like asthma, etc.
A lot of male smokers become infertile because of their smoking habit. Some are actually ignorant about this fact, but it is the truth. As a result of smoking, the sperm count in men decrease and as a result lose their chances of having a child. Women smokers can lose the chance of becoming pregnant.
Smoking can lead to depression. Even though a lot of smokers have a belief that smoking helps them lighten up their mind and restrains them from being depressed, it is actually the opposite that happens. This is another reason why quit smoking is a prevailing issue in today’s society.
If you smoke and already know about the above mentioned reasons, and yet smoke, then at least thinking about the cost would be beneficial. Today, just one cigarette pack would cost more than $5. If you are a person who has a regular consumption of approximately twenty cigarette packs per month, would you have any idea as to what kind of a cost you’d be incurring by the end of a year?
If you really have the desire to quit smoking, then keep in mind that once you get into the mood, there won’t be any constraints unless you let it stop you from going ahead with your plan. It’s a matter of motivation and will power. Once you’ve achieved that, the rest could be easy as 1, 2, and 3.
